The Blackbird Team attended the AWS Re:Invent Conference

On November 26 - 30, 2018 the Blackbird team was in Las Vegas, NV to attend the AWS re:Invent conference.

The event was a learning conference hosted by Amazon Web Services for the global cloud computing community, and it featured keynote announcements, training, technical sessions, certification opportunities and much more.

Blackbird’s focus on the conference, in addition to networking, was to dive into a number of specific technologies, learn from others who have driven them into production for a long time, and get to know more about the challenges they encountered.

A couple of particular interesting topics for the team was:

  • Data Lakes and Machine Learning/AI

  • Workshops about IoT

  • Serverless infrastructure

  • Container-Based Infrastructure

  • Industry 4.0

  • Continuous Resilience Testing

Since we in the Blackbird team are always focused on improving our skills and deepening our knowledge within software, AI and IoT, we find it very valuable to participate in such engaging technology events. The event certainly contributed to our learning about a wide range of topics, i.e. things that we already do and can improve, and things we have on our roadmap for the future.
